I booked my ticket on the wrong date.

Unfortunately, we do not offer an exchange of tickets, as this would exceed our administrative effort in our small team. However, we advise you to exchange your ticket yourself via Ticketswap and thank you for your understanding.

Is the WOW Museum suitable for people with epilepsy?

We have 12 interactive rooms, two of which might be unsuitable for a person with epilepsy. We would be happy to inform you about these rooms at the reception.

I purchased a family ticket and only received 4 tickets, is this correct?

That's right, with family tickets you get four tickets, two adult and two child tickets. But you can take up to four children with you. If you have five or more children, you have to buy an additional ticket.

Can I book a guided tour of the museum to dive deeper into the subject of illusions?

Groups of 13 or more can book a guided tour at least 2 weeks in advance via our online ticket system. Individual visitors and smaller groups are welcome to inquire with their desired date and time via events@wow-museum.ch. The costs vary according to the number of people.

Is the museum suitable for young children?

The museum is recommended for everyone from 4-99 years. Since there are many mirrors and lights, children under 4 will of course also find it great. However, we ask the parents to take care of their children so that they don't run around and scream - out of respect to the other visitors. Even if ALMOST everything can be tried out and touched, the WOW Museum is NOT a playground.

Since children under the age of 6 do not perceive any illusions, we have created the hidden world of Willow (our museums gnome). He has 5 spots in the museum, which the children can look for and encourage them to create their own illusions.

Do I need to book my ticket online?

Yes and no. If we have enough space, you can also come by spontaneously. -> Please check this online in advance on our ticket page! You have to click on the red ticket button on our website and choose your desired date.

BUT: if we are completely sold out in every time slot, as it is currently the case during holidays and rainy weekends, then we cannot let in any additional people due to the limited number of visitors. That would be very annoying for you, because we would have to send you away with a heavy heart.

So if you want to be on the safe side, be sure to reserve a time slot in advance ONLINE!

When do I need to be in the museum?

If your slot is, for example, 12-13pm, that means that you can arrive at the museum sometime between 12-13pm and stay as long as you want.

Especially on full days (holidays / public holidays / weekends), we would be extremely grateful if you could stay in the museum for a maximum of 90 minutes, so that there are not too many visitors in the museum at the same time and we can maintain social distancing.

Do I have to print out my ticket?

You are welcome to print it out, but it is also sufficient if you have the ticket on your mobile phone. The QR code is enough for us.

Is the Raiffeisen Pass valid in the WOW Museum?

Sadly not, since we are a private museum.

Do you get a group discount?

No, but families can buy family tickets. Families with more than 4 children can book an additional child for CHF 5 each.

Can I have a voucher for the WOW Museum?

Yes, of course, you are welcome to ask for a WOWcher at the reception or go through our website.

Click on the Ticket-button (upper right corner of the WOW Webpage). On the right side a field will appear called "Buy gift vouchers". The date stated on the Ticketino voucher is only "proforma". Your voucher is valid for at least 1.5 years and must be redeemed via Ticketino by entering the promo code.

How can I redeem my voucher ?

Step 1
Go to the wow-museum.ch website and click on "Tickets" on the right, then select the date and time. You will then be redirected to the TICKETINO website.

Step 2
Select your ticket, enter your details and go to the shopping cart. There you can enter your code at PROMOCODES FOR PRICE REDUCTION.

Step 3
Complete your booking.
Important: The voucher can only be redeemed online and not on site.

Can I bring my dog?

No, unfortunately animals are not allowed, unless it is a companion dog. In this case, please write to us at info@wow-museum.ch to find a suitable date.

Is there a wardrobe?

Yes, we have a cloakroom and free lockers.

How much are the tickets?

Children (2 - 5) CHF 5.-

Children (6 - 16 years) / Wheelchair users / Kulturlegi CHF 16.-

Students / Apprentices / IV CHF 19.-

Adult and Seniors are CHF 23.-

Familyticket CHF 73.- (Two adults with two to four children (from 0 - 18 years old))

-> We recommend to book over our portal in advance to ensure your slot, as we have limited places.

Tours can be booked online 2 weeks in advance.

When is the last admission before closing?

In order to have enough time for your exploration you should allow at least 45-60min for the museum visit. Therefore we advise you to arrive at the museum 45min before closing time at the latest. The last slot has reduced prices.

Can I visit the WOW Museum with a school class?

In the mornings we offer exciting tours for inquisitive school classes. Educational topics such as: Optical illusions, colour theory, perspective and sensory perception can be explained well in the WOW.

You can book your excursion right here.

We are also happy to offer a hand for teaching topics. Please send us an email: events@wow-museum.ch.

Strollers

As the WOW Museum is located in a historical building there is no lift available. You are more than welcome to leave your pram in the wardrobe.

Is the WOW Museum barrier-free?

The museum is located in a historical building with limited space. Since the building is worthy of being protected, there is unfortunately no lift. Of course for entry/exit we can provide a ramp on request. The ground floor with the main rooms including the toilet is barrier-free. We are happy to offer a hand for a barrier-free tour. Wheelchair users are offered reduced entry tickets.

Found objects

Lost property will be kept at the WOW Museum for up to 3 weeks. After this period, clothes and objects in good condition are donated to organisations. We keep EC and credit cards, ID/passports, driver's licences and keys in the museum for up to 3 months, after which we hand them over to the Zurich City Police. In case of loss, please write to us at info@wow-museum.ch

How long does the museum visit last?

We expect your visit to take about 60 to 90min. This depends on how long you explore the rooms and installations and how long you play with the WOW-Guide.

How can I pay?

You can pay for your ticket booked online by credit card or Twint.

At the cash desk we also accept credit or debit cards, EC, and cash.

Unfortunately, PostFinance does not work.

What do I do if my Time Slot on my booked ticket has already expired?

Please contact the staff at the cash desk. IF it is space wise possible, they will give you new timeslot. But if we are sold out, your ticket will be expired after the end of the day.

If you are unable to attend, you must write to info@ticketino.com and ask them to refund your ticket as a gesture of goodwill and with a cancellation fee.

Buy a ticket

You can buy your entrance ticket from the comfort of your own home. The important thing is that you choose your preferred time of admission.

For example, if you choose your ticket for the 13-14 o'clock slot, you can appear between 13-14 o'clock. So even at 1:55pm your entrance is guaranteed. If you arrive after the above mentioned time, we will give you access depending on availability.

At the cash desk you can of course also buy a ticket as usual. Then we will check for a free place in the museum and can let you in depending on the number of visitors. If the museum is already fully booked, you can reserve the next possible date for admission. So you can go for a coffee without having to stand in the queue for a long time.

Arrival and parking

The WOW Museum is easily accessible by both private car and public transport.

Zurich main station is a 5 minute walk away.

The nearest parking garage Urania is within 3 minutes walking distance to the WOW Museum.

The PubliBike rental bikes are also just around the corner at Werdmühleplatz.

Limited number of visitors

Visitors are only admitted to the exhibition in limited numbers to guarantee a room-filling experience. You can book your time slot from the comfort of your own home. If you drop by spontaneously, we will check if there is a free place for you and can let you in depending on the number of visitors. If the museum is already fully booked, you can reserve your admission online at the next possible date. This way you can go for a coffee without having to stand in line for a long time.
