Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cancel my tickets or change the time?

The return or exchange of tickets is generally excluded.

Tickets can only be canceled with the cancellation fee paid (0.45.- per ticket).

Is there a wardrobe?

Yes, we have a cloakroom and free lockers.

Can I bring my dog

No, animals are not allowed at the WOW, unless it is an assistance dog. If so, please write to info@wow-museum.ch to find the best convenient time for your visit.

Can I have a voucher for the WOW Museum?

Yes, of course, you are welcome to ask for a WOWcher at the reception or go through our website.

If you click on the Ticket-button (upper right corner of the WOW Webpage), the calendar will appear. There is a white "WOWcher field" at the top left. The date stated on the Ticketino voucher is only "proforma". Your voucher is valid for at least 1.5 years and must be redeemed via Ticketino by entering the promo code.

Do you get a group discount?

No, but families can buy family tickets. Families with more than 4 children can book an additional child for CHF 5 each.

Is the Raiffeisen Pass valid in the WOW Museum?

No, because we are a private museum.

How do I get tickets for the Magic Show?

The Magic Show is included in a Friday evening ticket price, you can buy it directly on our website in the correct time slot (7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, or 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm). You are welcome to explore the museum in advance or afterwards.

Do I have to print out my ticket?

You are welcome to print it out, but it is also sufficient if you have the ticket on your mobile phone. The QR code is enough for us.

Do you have to wear a mask in the WOW Museum?

Our staff wears a mask at all times.

If it is less growded in the museum and social distancing can be respected, then we only recommend to visitors to wear a mask.

We are constantly disinfecting everything, gloves are available and hand disinfectant on every corner.

As soon as the social distancing can no longer respected, there is a mask requirement.

At the 4 photo stations and other photo objects, you can remove the mask for the pictures at any time so that you can take nice pictures.

->WOW Museum hascontact tracing at all times, these measures are not required by the BAG, but voluntary by the WOW Museum out of consideration for the overall situation. We hope to do justice to the situation and the wishes of everyone in order to be able to maintain the WOW operation.

When do I need to be in the museum?

If your slot is, for example, 12-13pm, that means that you can arrive at the museum sometime between 12-13pm and stay as long as you want.

Out of respect for the current situation and especially on full days (holidays / public holidays / weekends), we would be extremely grateful if you could stay in the museum for a maximum of 90 minutes, so that there are not too many visitors in the museum at the same time and we can maintain social distancing.

Is the museum suitable for young children?

The museum is recommended for everyone from 4-99 years. Since there are many mirrors and lights, children under 4 will of course also find it great. However, we ask the parents to take care of their children so that they don't run around and scream - out of respect to the other visitors. Even if ALMOST everything can be tried out and touched, the WOW Museum is NOT a playground.

Since children under the age of 6 do not perceive any illusions, we have created the hidden world of Willow (our museums gnome). He has 5 spots in the museum, which the children can look for and encourage them to create their own illusions.

I purchased a family ticket and only received 4 tickets, is this correct?

That's right, with family tickets you get four tickets, two adult and two child tickets. But you can take up to four children with you. If you have five or more children, you have to buy an additional ticket.

Is the WOW Museum suitable for people with epilepsy?

We have 12 interactive rooms, two of which might be unsuitable for a person with epilepsy. We would be happy to inform you about these rooms at the reception.

What are the hygiene rules and how are they observed?

The safety of all people has the highest priority in the WOW Museum. As we are an interactive museum, we already have the latest technology in place to ensure a safe visit to the museum, so it is essential that you bring your own cell phone/smartphone or tablet (fully charged!)

In the protection concept we have laid down all the measures and hygiene rules and ask you to read them before your visit. You can download the protection concept under this link.

Please bring your own masks. Disinfectants are available at every corner in the museum. Gloves are also provided in the WOW Lab.

Do I need to book my ticket online?

Yes and no. IF we have enough space, you can also come by spontaneously. -> Please check this online in advance on our ticket page! You have to click on the red ticket button on our website and choose your desired date.

BUT: if we are completely sold out in every time slot, as it is currently the case during holidays and rainy weekends, then we cannot let in any additional people due to the limited number of visitors. That would be very annoying for you, because we would have to send you away with a heavy heart.

So if you want to be on the safe side, be sure to reserve a time slot in advance ONLINE!

Can I book a guided tour of the museum to dive deeper into the subject of illusions?

Small groups (up to 14 people) can use our online ticket system to book a mini tour of 20-30 minutes at least 2 weeks in advance. As a group of 15 or more people, you have to request the desired date and time via events@wow-museum.ch. Costs vary according to the number of visitors.

When is the last admission before closing?

In order to have enough time for your exploration you should allow at least 45-60min for the museum visit. Therefore we advise you to arrive at the museum 45min before closing time at the latest. The last slot has reduced prices.

Limited number of visitors

Visitors are only admitted to the exhibition in limited numbers to guarantee a room-filling experience. You can book your time slot from the comfort of your own home. If you drop by spontaneously, we will check if there is a free place for you and can let you in depending on the number of visitors. If the museum is already fully booked, you can reserve your admission online at the next possible date. This way you can go for a coffee without having to stand in line for a long time.

How much are the tickets?
  • Children under 6 are for free
  • Children (6 - 16 years) / Wheelchair users / Kulturlegi CHF 16.-
  • Students / Apprentices / IV CHF 19.-
  • Adult and Seniors are CHF 23.-
  • Familyticket CHF 73.- (Two adults with two to four children (from 0 - 18 years old))

-> Please book over our portal in advance to ensure your slot, as we have limited places due to COVID-19. Tours can be booked online 2 weeks in advance.

Arrival and parking

The WOW Museum is easily accessible by both private car and public transport.

Zurich main station is a 5 minute walk away.

The nearest parking garage Urania is within 3 minutes walking distance to the WOW Museum.

The PubliBike rental bikes are also just around the corner at Werdmühleplatz.

Buy a ticket

You can buy your entrance ticket from the comfort of your own home. The important thing is that you choose your preferred time of admission.

For example, if you choose your ticket for the 13-14 o'clock slot, you can appear between 13-14 o'clock. So even at 1:55pm your entrance is guaranteed. If you arrive after the above mentioned time, we will give you access depending on availability.

At the cash desk you can of course also buy a ticket as usual. Then we will check for a free place in the museum and can let you in depending on the number of visitors. If the museum is already fully booked, you can reserve the next possible date for admission. So you can go for a coffee without having to stand in the queue for a long time.

What do I do if my Time Slot on my booked ticket has already expired?

Please contact the staff at the cash desk. IF it is space wise possible, they will give you new timeslot. But if we are sold out, your ticket will be expired after the end of the day.

If you are unable to attend, you must write to info@ticketino.com and ask them to refund your ticket as a gesture of goodwill and with a cancellation fee.

How can I pay?

You can pay for your ticket booked online by credit card or Twint.

At the cash desk we also accept credit or debit cards, EC, and cash.

Unfortunately, PostFinance does not work, however due to the current situation caused by the Corona virus, we ask you to pay by card if possible.

How long does the museum visit last?

We expect your visit to take about 60 to 90min. This depends on how long you explore the rooms and installations and how long you play with the WOW-Guide. Due to Corona restrictions, we would appreciate if you would respect the other museum visitors WHEN THE MUSEUM IS FULL and not extend your visit unnecessarily.

Found objects

Every evening all rooms are checked and found objects are deposited at the cash desk in the entrance area. If you have forgotten something in the museum, you can always come and pick it up from us. You are welcome to find out in advance whether we have found your lost object. Please write an e-mail to: info@wow-museum.ch

Is the WOW Museum barrier-free?

The museum is located in a historical building with limited space. Since the building is worthy of being protected, there is unfortunately no lift. Of course for entry/exit we can provide a ramp on request. The ground floor with the main rooms including the toilet is barrier-free. We are happy to offer a hand for a barrier-free tour. Wheelchair users are offered reduced entry tickets.

Strollers

As the WOW Museum is located in a historical building there is no lift available. You are welcome to leave your pram in the wardrobe to immerse yourself in the WOW world together.
